    Default Puma Test Overnight

So after a lot of thought and discussions with current owners i will take the 2013 Puma overnight for a test.
100 000KM on the clock. Brand new engine fitted by Land Rover.
    New clutch.
    New Injectors.

Fully kitted, even has DC/DC dual batteries etc, etc.

    So first impressions:
It has more legs than my Kalahari
Not sure about the gear changes. Cant find reverse properly. Gear lever might take a bit of getting used to.

    So far happy

BUT IS IT SO MUCH BETTER THAN MY RELIABLE KALAHARI
Maybe not as reliable but safer on the long road, road 120, dropped to 100 as if overtaking and climbed quickly to 120-130.
The goal is not to ride over 120 at all, i want a safe overtaking speed.
And to get to point B a little faster than the Kalahari.

Not 100% sure yet what to do.

    This PUMA LOOKS good.

    Not an easy decision.
I use mine once a month or so and twice a year across the borders.
So it gets converted to a Overlander/camper. Not used as daily drive at all.
Solar panel keeps batteries on a low trickle.
Stays fully kitted and loaded for trips to Baviaans or whatever place during the year.

I don't need the Defender as a daily drive.
It is purely used for camping/overlanding.

The Kalahari to safely overtake i have to be so careful, i even switch aircon off
Overtaking a truck that sits at 100km an hour you need to plan a long way back.
    Take a run-up and have a bash.

Looking at something a bit more modern and slightly quicker.
I will install all the EMS systems required, probably madman.
In 2 or 3 years time i will be doing a big tour via Malawi and Tanzania etc etc. So just planning ahead.

I have too many anyway so cant keep them all.

Well for now I have given it back and rode Off in my 2.2 Ranger

The 2013 Puma has 2.2 motor.
    Think 2.4 was 2008 to 2011/2012.
Looked after and serviced properly every 8000 to 10 000 km and watching Madman settings i see no problem with the 2.2 motor.
I do know about the previous engines injector that popped the motor.

Im in P.E. Land rover East Cape is The seller, they installed complete new motor, clutch and injectors.
Sold with 2 year Motor-rite or similar warranty.

Hell Graham, you make it worse, and mine has this:
New 90amp alternator, new turbo, new everything, absolutely no expense saved when servicing or preventative maintenance done..
It complete including the Kitchen and Sink.
And i know it very well, very little to go wrong as its VERY basic.

Im a Defender man this may become number 15
Or do i try a VNT? or VVNT Something Turbo for 5kmph more overtaking speed In the Kalahari
