Ford in the USA are also selling lower spec models to save a couple of microchips. They will also pay you a $1000 if you are willing to wait for an effected model. Not bad.

    R15k saving is not much...

I wonder what this will do to resale values in a couple of years' time?

I would buy the lower spec. myself.

The $1000? It is not a discount so I doubt it will influence prices in any way. Buying vehicles at inflated prices during this time is what is going to be the real shocker.

$1000 is not much but is anyone else paying it? Better than nothing in my books.

It's real, they are leaving out features in US cars, so must happen worldwide.

I said I might be wrong!

But at least the clients are informed and paying less!

Well new cars are hopelessly overpriced in Southern Africa anyway, so I suppose it's just another symptom of that...

I take my hat off to those who can afford to buy new Hilux bakkies. I think I have a fairly decent job and income, but I can't fork out N$800k for a bakkie.

Something to bear in mind when buying a secondhand 2021 Hilux sometime in the future.

High recommendable that you want to give him a new truck.
But what is wrong with his "newish" Ranger?
And why must it be a 4x4?

If he's happy with his Ranger and it not giving him any problems, why not give him a reward via other means, such as financial reward (which over time, if invested), are more rewarding than a vehicle with running cost and value that depreciate over time?

    That's actually worth pondering about.

Why indeed not reward him with actual hard cash? I know this is getting OT, but cash does tend to solve many, many short and medium term financial constraints.

Yes that is due to a factory being burnt down. Nothing to do with keeping it hush hush. We have just bought and received our Hilux Legend 2021 and were told about the lane assist not being there. We didnt think it was a decision making factor so we went ahead without... otherwise we could have waited...... But then, the bush waits for no man....

I looked at the names of the things they were taking off and thought, thank the lord! Less junk to enact limp mode.

I presume here that the new vehicle is part of the remuneration package as in a car allowance rather than being part of a bonus package.
However if Stephen gives his colleagues R600k plus gifts, then I immediately want to know where I can send my CV.
