    Default 1998 crv

    Hi guys & girls

I can get my hands on an old Honda CRV, 2.0L automatic from the previous millennium - 1998. for cheap cheap like R40k.

Are they ok vehicles and any major concerns on these? Its the automatic so not sure how good the gearbox is on these, I just want something to commute to work and back, to save the bakkie and my left knee from all the clutch pushing.

Pretty sure they last if looked after, friend has one with no troubles so far but its manual, sister has only driven Honda's since about 96, ballade/3xJazz/2xCRV and has never had to spend on anything other than maintenance and wear&tear items

Those cars are tough as nails. I've had friends do stupid mileage with them. One guy still has his after 20 odd years, swears by it.

Had a look at it lunchtime, but too much things needs fixing (I guess the price shows that) but since its a cheapy I will have to roadworthy it myself and its windscreen is cracked all over, exhaust blows like a humpback whale, and the AC is not working, could become too expensive too quick for just a bang around car. Also the gearbox has some funny noise when at higher speeds and kickback, so...

    Anyhow
