    Default 2013 Trailblazer 2.8D

Hi guys. Anybody knows what mileage the cambelt needs to be changed (if indeed it is a cambelt motor as I've been told)? Autodata has got no info on this engine...any help appreciated.

150 000 or 165 000 km service. Mine was done at 165 000 km. Irregardless what who says, I would not be comfortable running it past this mileage.

Correct, it is a 100k mile belt.

    Hi
Definitely a belt on 2.8 diesel.
    All indications are 165000Km change.
Got a quote on 2.8 4x4 full service and belt change R8900.

    That is a decent price.
A belt service on my 3.8V6 (petrol) Pajero was more than that 13 years ago.
Where did you get that quote?

My Trailblazer's cambelt snapped on 101k km, luckily did not bent any valves only broke a few rockers. I was under the impression that it is a timing chain. But I was also taught from a young age that if it is a cambelt and its a second hand car replace it.

But the user manual said 60k km and all the previous Chevy dealers say 165k km. I would say replace anytome between 60k km and 165k km I know it is a #### ton of km inbetween. Or just replace it now.

    Thanks for the feedback.
Can you show a pic, link or something relating to the user manual indicating the 60k interval.
