    Default Fuel Range

    Good day everyone,
I have a 2015 Fortuner (3.0 4x4) which I got it at 114,000 km. Here's my issue: full tank used to show a range of over 700 km, but now it always shows less than 670 km.
    What could be wrong?

As I understand, the fuel range is calculated as per the current average fuel consumption, l/km

So, if your current average fuel consumption is high because of city driving, short trips, etc then the fuel range will vary.

    My thoughts anyway.

Have you reset your average speed etc, as that will then increase the range again.....depending on city or long distance driving

Iíve heard that the fuel tank on that model shrinks about 10l in capacity per year. You should consider a newer model, mine is for sale... :thumb left:

Welcome to the forum, and you will need pics to prove that you actually drive a 4x4 :tic:

If you have driven around town, filled up then checked range on mfd it will calculate based on that town driving consumption.

if you then get on a highway and cruise at a constant speed check your range and it will increase- even after driving for 30 odd km on the highway you will see your range has increased by more than it was at the station because your cruising economy is better that town.

My xtrail shows me my instant fuel consumption as well as the avg, whereas the Pathfinder only shows me the avg.

But the range is calculated according to the avg as has been mentioned.

I have found that if I haven't' reset my avg fuel consumption in a long time, it's hard to reduce the avg and thus the range is affected. So I reset the avg after every fill up and also before hitting the road on a trip so that I can get a better indication of the range.
