Default Suzuki Helderberg: Kudos, hats off etc.

    Hats off to Suzuki Helderberg.

I had a head gasket blow om my Jimny, and my brother mecchie recommended that I get either Viktor Reinz or genuine Zook parts.

Contacted Suzuki Helderberg, and they got me ALL the parts at about R300 more than the Viktor Reinz equivalents.

Their service and communication to me was 100% better than what I had previously experienced with them.

And they're 3km down the road from me.

    Thanks guys!

Good to hear a good story. Share some detail on the head gasket. What mileage, year, did you had it from new, was it serviced only at the dealer and how did you pick up the problem (and do you know what caused it) It will help the rest of us to spot the signs or be more careful etc.

Jimny is a 2009 model, has done 206000km.

I got it in 2013 at 90000km, with full service history.

I've had it serviced by my brother since then.

Only problems I've had so far:
Nov 2015 discovered heater matrix had gone... Zook said "obsolete part", so google and ebay delieverd complete brass heater matrix at R1500 ex UK, which my wife brought home for me.. Half a day's work to get to the matrix, and 2 minutes to pull out old one and insert new one...

In Jan 2019 discovered a leaking radiator, replaced with new one from Silverton. May 2019 release bearing was starting to make funny sounds, so we replaced clutch kit.

Jan 2020 Jimny started giving jerky spluttering misfires at pull away/acceleration. Ordered ignition coil packs from UK @ about R750 for the 2, and replaced it myself just after the first Covid lockdown was lifted and parcels could be delivered...
