Default polished concrete / screed floors

I have those thick 25mm Italian style terracotta tiles throughout my house.
some have been replaced, others broken etc.

Would love to rip them out and go with the concrete screed style.
Anyone have any experience in this or had it done?
    any reccomendations?

Places that I consulted thus far require some sort of documentation on the subfloor concrete..

resin floors might be a option, but definitely not over the tiles...

Have a look at a product called Cretecote by Cemcrete.
The thickness is +/-2mm and with a good sealant it last for year.

Outside the shop selling tiles It has worked for me.

Depending who you take you might be better off taking the current tiles off using "non tiler". May have to hire equipment.

Elevations might be an issue. Terracotta tiles are much thicker than normal tiles. You have to solve this problem. You may end up using self levelling screed. Not cheap.

Default polished concrete / screed floors

The wife and I spent a Sunday going to randomly look at show houses about 2 years ago.

One house had an interesting concept that we both liked - polished floors that had a tint throughout the house.

I was so intrigued that I phoned the owner the next day and he explained that they once a year use a sealer and premix a wood stain into it. Looks very nice if you’d like to test that on a small space.

As a student he was my mentor at a Tiling company and knows the tiling game inside and out - His advice will be sound and honest.
