Default Bumper that handles PDC for FJ Cruiser?

    Good day Everyone

The FJ Cruiser does not come out with PDC (Park Distance Control) and has to be fitted afterwards.

Are there any bumpers that cater for PDC as well? If so, which ones?

I've heard people say that the aftermarket bumpers are not valid for PDC?

Any help or leads would be appreciated

The FJ does come with PDC as standard.

We bought our FJ already filly kitted. It has an Onca rear replacement bumper and the PDC is fully functional.

Not sure if the PDC was transferred by just drilling holes in the replacement bumper or Onca made provision for this?

Surely if it's aftermarket PDC, it's just a matter of drilling holes in the right places?

That's what I would think as well re the PDC, but I've been told by two fitters that the PDC's give issues after transferring it to an after market .
    bull bar

And the only quote that I got was for an ARB bull bar for 40k...

Which is on the steep side.

Are you referring to front or rear bumper? If at the rear the PDC is standard on the FJ.

Call Onca, Len and the guys do proper fitments.

We have Zero issues with the PDC in our FJ with Onca replacement at the rear.

Also, why would you need PDC in the front?

In my Hilux, I would love it in the front. Don't need it at the rear, that's what the camera is for

90%+ of the time, I reverse into parkings, I can't judge when I'm going to touch the bullbar on the wall or car in front of me.

    Why?

Driving forward into a parking, I can't see if the nudge bar is going to hit the wall or car in front of me.
Reversing into a parking, I can see the tow ball in the camera and I can stop before I hit anything.

In a mall or underground parking lot, reverse parking is much easier.

Default Bumper that handles PDC for FJ Cruiser?

On my 2021 FJ ( amazing vehicle!!!) pdc in rear is standard. I replaced both front and rear bumbers with Gobi x replacements. Also had front pdc installed in the front with a separate in off switch on centre dash. Now have pdc on both front and back. I switch off the front when not required as it can give a false signal when driving.

Gobi x replacement bumbers look great and are excellent quality. Each bumper costs less than R20k ( 15k rear and 18k front iirc). Hope this info helps

THanks Recovery and DCTheron! I'll go checkout both options.

On the why one wants to have PDC at the front? Because once you are used to it, you don't want to go back Thanks for everyone contributing! If you know of more font bumpers for PDC, do keep me posted please!
