Water does not condense to form ice.

Water molecules in liquid form is actually closer to each other than in ice form. More dense.

When water freezes is actually expands.

Because of the shape of ice crystals?

    Yes.

When water cools down, it looses energy and the molecules form a structure (crystal for a lack of a better scientific word) and aligns with the next molecule whereby the molecules are actually further apart than in the liquid form. Spread out further so becomes less dense.

Yes, it's the shape of the crystal grid that causes it. The magnetic forces the ions exert are rearranged in the two different mediums.

If you want to get really technical, (which we shouldn't ) energy cannot be created nor can it be destroyed. Thermo dynamics 101

You can just make it take different forms.

I think it the 1st law, or a combination of 1st and 2nd, maar ek is heeltemal te stupid vir dit lol.

The first law of thermodynamics states that, when energy passes into or out of a system (as work, heat, or matter), the system's internal energy changes in accord with the law of conservation of energy.
The second law of thermodynamics states that in a natural thermodynamic process, the sum of the entropies of the interacting thermodynamic systems never decreases. Another form of the statement is that heat does not spontaneously pass from a colder body to a warmer body.

H20 is an incredible and enigmatic substance.

-were it not for the fact that it increases in density at near 0 degree temperature and into state-change to ice from water, our globe and life on it would be vastly different - if ice sank at temperatures slightly below 0, then many of the extra-tropical oceans and seas would be totally frozen over -having who-knows-what effect on climate and evolution of species-, and what liquid water was still available in the tropics would be fairly limited, and life would have developed in very different ways-if at all!

Interestingly, H2O has of the highest latent heat required/released with change of state.

it takes more energy to melt ice (i.e change it from solid to liquid while at 0deg C) than it takes to boil that same water (i.e. heat it from 0 to 100deg C)

The light from the torch will radiate out at the speed of light, as usual. Your speed of light is only relative to an observer. To you it'll be as if you're standing still.

Theoretically, nothing can go faster than the speed of light. However, the speed of light can be exceeded. Due to the expansion of the universe,
some of the farthest galaxies we can see now are receding at faster than the speed of light, and will eventually disappear from view, never to be seen by us again.

One day, a very long time from now, Milky Way astronomers will see no galaxies at all, and will think we're all alone in the universe.
