    Default Help me plan

Swambo and I want to do a trip over a 3-4 week period in July/Aug 2022.

We stay in the Karoo but will drop the kiddies at the grandparents as this trip is to big for them and they are only 3 and 4 years old.

So we want to do it from Jhb to Vic Falls and back.

Please help me plan as this will be our first proper overland in Botswana with Vic Falls as a highlight.

    Thank you in advance.

    A few questions Nick

    What are your priorities ?

    Game sighting ?

    Secluded bush ?

    Tourist attractions ?

There are so many ways to enjoy Bots depending on what you want out of the trip.

More info on your set up and how you want to sleep will help.

Without hijacking the original post, can I please also add to the questions?
    1. I would like to get a suggested route for a solo newbie going into Botswana. I have never been overlanding and would like to experience the country. Possibly a circular route?
    2. I have decided to rather fly up to Jhb from CT and get a hired fully rigged vehicle there - any suggestions as to I can use?
    3. Is it at all possible to cross the border into Botswana and still make it to Vic Falls before the covid test expires? I have always wanted to see the Vic Falls and hopefully the water flow is still that high.
    4. Because I am travelling solo I want to move when I want to and not be held to rigid reservations. (Suggested camp sites?)
    5. I enjoy taking photographs and watching birds and game.
    6. To go as soon as possible

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank You

Probably a bit too much for 3-4 weeks, but maybe have a look at this report a few years ago.

Atleast provide a SKELETAL Trip Structure we can amend on IT....Because we might add scenic flights along etc

Unfortunately, those two requirements exclude each other currently. All land border posts into Zimbabwe are still closed for leisure travel at the moment. So currently, the only way to see the Falls from the Zim side is to fly into Zimbabwe.

Guys sorry for not replying, work kept me very busy these last weeks. I appreciate the feedback and will look at the ideas and revert with more questions. A big question is van I use my conqueror trailer especially traveling alone regarding thick sandy sections as more than one advises against it.
