But I would also suggest you look at https://wrnd.co.za/ for the DC-DC unit. They are a local company making quality, well thought out kit.
I have an early version of their DC-DC in my 'tuna. Been working faultlessly for years now. Also has an input for solar panels built in.

The only other advice I would give is, if you are starting from scratch, consider using a Lithium battery.
he prices have dropped in recent years and the advantages are huge.
You can discharge to 15-20% with no risk to the longevity of the battery ( you should only drop a lead-acid battery to about 75-80% depending on how long you want it to last).
They are much lighter and much smaller for the same "usable" capacity.
If you ever want more storage you can just add another one in parallel without the internal resistance problems you get with different aged L/A batteries in parallel.

Voetspore Menlyn fitted an Intervolt (Australian product) DCDC system to my engine compartment with a 75Ah lead acid deep cycle battery.
They ran a cable to the back of my Pajero and fitted two pugs. 1 x Cigarette lighter and 1 x Hella type.
They did a very neat job and the system runs my 60lt Snowmaster perfectly. The system can also be connected to a solar panel without the need for a regulator.
I haven't done any long trips with it but it worked perfectly for a week at -1 deg C in February.

Have done a couple of dual battery installs in cruisers and also other vehicles for customers. Had no problems with installations. Just one Unipower unit that was a problem child. Wanted to do my Prado befire I drove to George but time caught me. Will do it once back home.

    Looks great!

Just make sure that the washers used are nice and big.

105AH Fitted in the front of my D4D - No issues
105AH Fitted in the front of my GD6 - Ripped/cracked the fender after one trip to Khutse and had to have it welded by a panelbeater on return.

I still have the 105AH in the front of the GD6 but have beefed up the washers for better load distribution.

    Enjoy
