Default Advice Wanted -- Ford Ranger Stickers / off-road upgrades

    Good Morning

Does anyone know of a place / person where i can get some stickers for my DC Ford Ranger? i don't want to look like a wannabe raptor i just want something different that looks good (and hopefully deter some hijackers)

what other aesthetic mods can be done?

i am planning on a off-road front bumper but being new to the bakkie and 4x4 scene i don't know what brands are good and what are over priced any recommendations? or should i start with a snorkel? what is the order these things are usually done in?

    Thanks in advance

Shoo. Youíre a bit all over the place in terms of what you want to do with your bakkie.
honestly, no matter what you do to your ford itís not going to look the coolest, thereís just too many out there, with too many mods.

Get out there. Use the truck off road and work out what mods you want first. I bet youíll work out your first mods will be good tyres, then suspension, and maybe rock sliders.
After getting out there for a while I reckon youíll realize a snorkel will be very last on your list of things to get.

    just my opinion though.

No order, whatever suits you. Vinyl is temp and just for a fresh /different look and when you are tired of it pull it off and back to stock. I use mine for camping mostly and very little heavy off roading. Your standard suspension setup is more than capable unless you planning on doing some extreme offroading. Fully agree, snorkel is really last.

Iíd say that a good mod to start with is to make sure you can lock the contents in the back and then also dust proof the back so your stuff doesnít get filthy and wet.

The order they are done in usually depends what you want to do with the vehicle

Regular offroading/dunes etc...consider bumpers to improve approach angles and decent suspension for better flex and capability, mud terrain tires

Regular overlanding, decent tires and suspension, canopy with off the grid electrics etc

Mallcrawling...any cosmetic add-on you can find

Take a look at Rhino or Onca bumpers, suspension Tough Dog, OME etc, budget will play a massive role on what you settle on, rather save more and get decent equipment for the long run

is there any way to deter them? i was always under the impression that the more your car stands out that prevents it from "Blending in" the lower the risk would be but i guess these guys aren't afraid of anything

Fully agree with you there but I think a nice strip on the full length, at the right height, on the sides of the truck will prevent a lot of knock marks of other car owers that opens their car doors recklessly at parking lots.

Otherwise nice big, sturdy, side-steps will protect your truck and puts the dents in their doors
(I got this one, and aside of protecting the sides, it is also a great asset for especially my wife who struggles to climb into the truck).

Neither of these will actually help you against dirt or water entering thru the finger-thick space around the loadbin door. Just add a thick, adheseive rubber strip around the whole thing, and you are sorted.

Pro Auto Rubber sells a dust sealing kit for the Ranger which you can fit diy. They are in Boksburg.

Got the RSI canopy. Full kit inside, for camping. Very nice.

But it gets heavy with roofto tent and extras for the out of town trips.

But i do agree with sealing the loadbox. Finger thick gap.
