    Default V Belt Replacement

My 3.2 Triton had a major service on 199000km's, where 3 V-belts were replaced.

I sent the vehicle in for an oil change on 204000km's and was told that the V-belts were cracked and they were replaced again...5000km's after they were replaced during the major service.

Am I being taken for a ride??

Possibly. Did they call you beforehand to confirm you would pay for the replacements? If not, tell them to get shafted. I would not pay if they didn't confirm the charges with me beforehand.

They follow a routine so much km this needs done , the chap that phones you is usually just a sales man and quite clueless about servicing , always demand old parts back
Either way I always check myself , easy to see if belt is new or not
