Have a look at this review. I watched this long ago and found it to be an accurate real life review.

A 200cc motor to drive that massive body(relative to a motorbike) and more than 2 people, surely not?

I do not know if this complies with the European regulations for small 4 wheel vehicles. Car license not required. I thing this has higher legal top speed. There were quite a few of the European legal types in the town where we lived 4 years - youngsters. We call them scooter cars. Many in France - older people. Expensive due to low volume manufactured. Relatively safe in town but not so on open roads due to speed difference.

I saw many similar size but electric in Amsterdam. Much better than scooter and umbrella

Check what was used in Europe after the war then you realize that there is need and market this kind of vehicles in specific areas of the world if the price is low enough. America was built on the back seat of those road ships. Europe was not.

    Default Bajaj Qute has landed

Suid afrika was altyd gewees enige iets groter as 50cc moet lisensie hÍ. Ek weet nie wat dit nou is met elektrie en ekektries/petrol hybrids nie.

Mens kan actually lekker ry met n elektriese kar, met n 49cc 4stroke wat heelpad n alternator draai.

Come now Richard. Cast your mind back the Heinkel and Messerschmitts when we were younger. Often the only affordable options to the post-war cash strapped European buyer. This is an incarnation of that concept and to someone somewhere it is an aspirational acquisition

Yes, great concept except when some genius decides to tackle the N1 with one and causes a huge, multi-car, fatal, incident due to a massive speed differential. I say incident because it sure as hell wouldn't be an accident and I bet it happens in the third lane from the left. Imagine one of these trying to go up the hill towards William Nicol from Malibongwe.

Mind you, it may make a serviceable side by side with the back half converted to a flat/ load bed, for sure it will be cheaper.

Ek verstaan wat jy probeer se, ek het die selfde redenasie met my familie gemaak dat ek eerder tweedehandse Go of Gets sal koop as die qute.

Maar as ek moet kies tussen nuwe qute by dealer, en kar wat in JHB central verkoop word, kies ek die qute.
