    Edit: See my post #8.

    Short answer is no.

A very basic quick non-technical explanation below.

MPPT charger trying to find the maximum power point from a DC DC charger either confuses itself or the charger.
PWM charger also confuses anything more than a very basic DC DC power "supply".
Shunt chargers also no good for a DC DC charger.

I have tried multiple scenarios, with little success.
    Keen to hear other opinions.

I'm no electronic buff and speak under correction - maybe I've misunderstood the question. You get DC to DC chargers that also handle solar, like the CTek 250 Dual or the HcDP DC chargers. They supposedly distinguish between the the charge coming from the car and the solar, and switch internally into an "either or" scenario.

I used to have this in my previous Boskriek. Now with the mppt I donít use dc-dc anymore as it is better to charge with solar panel whilst driving.

With dc to dc in the van and vehicle main batery not connected the mppt will not be confused.
The plus side when solar not in use or bad weather you connect vehicle main and charge van batery by idling vehicle.
    Win win.

Ok, maybe I misunderstood the question. I thought you want to replace the solar panel feed with a DC DC charger feed.

"Ek wil graag uitvind kan ek n dc to dc charger op solar koppel ...." then re-reading I see it is in place of the solar regulator "sit in plek van die gewone solar regulator."

Then yes, no problem I do it all rhe time. I run solar in parrallel to my DC DC charger and then also as needed let each charge seperately and individually as well.
