The list price still is R635k, which is what you need to compare it too...

Triton is a manual. GWM is a 8 speed ZF auto.

I dont think Mitsubishi and spares availability should be used in the same sentence...

You are paying R150 000+ more for the Amarok & Ranger. For that amount of money you can change the suspension to Fox or whatever and still have change left

To be honest and this is just my opinion.
There is a better chance of Mitsubishi withdrawing from the SA market than GWM.
Last year together with Suzuki, Haval was the fastest growing brand in SA

Suspension composure is more than just shocks, coils and leafs. It’s the whole way the parts interact

I am really happy with the Haval (GWM). I just came back from a trip to alldays and driving on the farm roads there was so smooth. Everyone who drove it was very surprised. The P series from the reviews I have seen is good value. But yes always the resale value point.

Just FYI there are 63 dealers in Southern Africa according to the website including Namibia, Botswana, Zim and Zambia.

I think suspension composure can be a very subjective thing, that being said, it's not someting Hilux's and Fortuners are renowned for either.

I'm surprised that their is so much hate against the brand.
When Toyota came into the market we said the same thing not proven etc. Same with Hyundai, Kia eta

Yes the car is not proven but due to the fact it is a new range.

Have they had any major issues within the brand in SA?

Unfortunately I do not have the budget to buy a Tuna with the items I need.

I personally don't see the issue in the brand. They actually have more dealerships than Mitsu.

It's the same with the new generation of vw polo. 3 years ago people said wait a year n see if it has issues. But my 2018 A4 had more issues than the new gen polo.

My point is we can't bash the brand because it's new and we not sure if its going to be a lemon.

Agreed Deeps, in my view, it's one of the best looking bakkies on the market, unlike the 'melted tupperware' look of the one people are comparing it to on this thread.

So a this thing is 300K cheaper than a Hilux. After 5 years you will maybe get 200k for it. You have lost 350K. If you get 500K for the Hilux after 5 years you have also lost 350K, except that you have had a much lower payment on the P-series for five years, so what's the big deal with the resale value?

I did weigh the resale thing against all the other points, and it didn't win. Everyone is different but if I was in the market for a bakkie now, I would go for the P series easily.
That was before I saw now that you can get a 7 year unlimited km warranty.

I think for the price and what you get the P-Series is definitely worth looking at. There was a good comparison between the top of the range P-Series vs a Ranger in the same price category. quite a good review.

I see there are a few suggestions of a triton which i also think is a good looking double cab.
Theres also good specials on the Fiat Fullback 2.4 4x4 autos with up to R160k off and they are basically Mitsubishi's that have been re-badged. It doesn't look as good as the Triton but the under-skins the same.
