Almost forgot - my traditional Friday thread-bump.

If you're travelling through through or to Harties this weekend, drive safe.

And do not buy wood next to the road in Hartbeespoort.

    Thanks Ian.

I shall be doing the usual of driving past these criminals and getting proper wood at the Total in Skeerpoort this afternoon. Awesome wood there, cant wait to sit at the fire later.

Last weekend I was chatting with some guys about this and we were wondering, these guys cant be repeat customers, can they? Surely after they TRY to burn the first bag they will realize the wood is absolute rubbish. If they are repeat customers, they must be properly brain dead then.

    Surely!!

I don't know if that will work. A STOP signs means to come to a dead stop. An orange traffic light means you 150m back, slow down and come to a stop. Red light means do not go........ I am just saying, not much good those do and everyone know exactly what they should do when they see them...... why would they worry about a board that says "Don't buy the wood".......

Must admit, I bought there last year sometime, before I saw this post and the Carte Blanche episode on it. I will advocate against it now.

After that, I just loaded wood at my dad on their small farm just outside Brits.

    Enjoy the weekend

I had a chaotic Friday. My weekend with kids, which meant getting from Pretoos-dorp to Brits and back. Also had to drop off some equipment my daughter used for her "entrepreneurs day" thing at school recently. So, there was no time for foruming...

Thanks for bumping the thread, Graham.

All we can do is spread the message. My dad, who recently moved back up to Gauteng from the coast, was very proud of his R10 wood after a day out in Harties.

I showed him this, and now he is aware. One less return customer.

Saw another Gauteng toppie yesterday, happily loading up the double cab and re-arranging his new Clivias for his 500kg of cheap wood.

I swear I'm going to start taking photos. How does POPI apply in this case?

Is die clivias en aalwyne wat hulle verkoop so langs die pad ook gesteel?

En ek het maar my bedenkinge oor die naartjies en avos...

I've been driving in and out of Harties for about 3 years.
Have good friends living in the area and never heard of this, haven't watched TV in many years.
So now i also know and can spread the word.
