Default Pajero LWB spare Diesel tank - repair it or take it off?

Our 2009 LWB came with a spare Diesel tank that was leaking from the beginning (we knew about that).

As long as one didn't use the spare tank, e.g. fill up and pump it empty after filling up, it wasn't bothering us first.
The leak was somewhere on the top of it.

It then started leaking on the bottom. Was fixed.

When we visited Central Kalahari GR in March all was fine, obviously,
we lost a few litres of Diesel but once the spare tank was emptied, it wasn't leaking any more.

After being back a week now, it started leaking again at the bottom and we need to decide what to do. And to find a workshop in CT.

Obviously, it doesn't make sense to repair it again so we have three options.

Option 1 - Take it off, close the openings and travel with the main tank

Option 2 - Replace it with a new tank

    Option 3 - Repair it

What to do and where to go?

    TIA
