You connected the vehicle main battery as well as the solar.
You did not connect your second battery (assuming from your volt reading in pic 2)

Your DC-DC unit will not give a voltage output unless there is a second battery connected to the system, only then will the power light illuminate and will the unit charge the second battery.

I also bought my ctek 2cnd hand off facebook and still going strong. The biggest issue on them is the max solar volt rating blowing fuses, just check that your solar panel is within the CTek spec
I will try this again this weekend and see what results I get. Thanks for the tip.

I'm going to try again this weekend As suggested in previous comments. If it still fails I'll look into giving him a call. Thanks for those details.

I have not fooled around with mine for a few years now, but as far as I can recall you need a battery at both ends for it to work and they must be at working limit of the unit..
    This is correct.

I tried again this morning and same condition, the power light does not come on.
The solar light and / or the alternator light but else
I ran it for s few minutes, and still no change.

I've decided to look at an alternate solution like one of the victron DC to DC charges. They are half the price of the new Ctek chargers.

Just to confirm, you had the main source battery, as well as an auxiliary connected and added the solar panel and then tested?

I only had the source battery and aux battery connected with the engine running. No solar panel this time. No power light comes on and no charge to the aux battery. It is definitely faulty.
As you connect power, a red light flashes, and that to me, shows an error condition.
Its going in the dump and I'm moving on. I have purchased a different brand and feel confident I won't be left stranded by this rubbish.
C Tek is a good brand, but unfortunately this one has let me down.
