Just in case there is any confusion it is the one in the picture.

Heinz, Riaan organised almost all those contacts etc.
However Leeubok (Rickert) has some contacts there I think.
Also SA Jeep (Marais) was involved as was Gavin (Not Ad-Rem - Other Gavin.)

It is the SANPB Camp in Mtunzini.
Contact details as per last thread for that event.

I will look it up and add below.

Thanks Gavin. I was starting to think that it was inadvertently forgotten and left there since I am usually the one taking it down.

Knowing Gavin though, he has probably modified it to erect itself when you put it down on the floor!

Hi everyone, as I was under thee impression that the first weekend in July was a long weekend but after a few people pointed out to me, I realize it isn't. The first long weekend will be in August on Friday the 6th and Monday the 16th. if anyone can help me confirm this and then see which weekend will suite most to then start with proper planning. I would appreciate all the help we can get with the planing, thanks for your volunteering in advance Peter.

Hi there fellow forumites, it seems that the long weekend in August will be the preferred weekend to organize the memorial drive for Riaan, Monday the 9th of August is a public holiday and therefore the ideal date to organize the GTG. It does seem to be quite a while away but we would like for most members to be able to join us for this event. I will try to get more info regarding camping and lodging for those that would prefer that. I want to ask for a show of hands of the people thinking of going so we can get an idea if the size of the group.

We would like to join all going well with Erica, but would not be camping so would need self catering accommodation nearby without steps or steep inclines and with close by secure parking for the Suuz.
So it depends on where as well as when.
But if in any way practical we would like to join.
    Put us down as "possible".
And as I said, if I can help (from a distance) let me know.

Hello Everyone, it has been a rollercoaster year for all of us and it impacted seriously on getting together for a weekend.

Heinz called me and as his laptop is in ICU at the moment, he asked me to get the KZN GTG on the go again. The planned weekend in August is too close to arrange anything decent, but Friday the 24th September is Heritage Day and perhaps we can plan for that weekend? Please indicate your availability for that weekend, even if you are not yet sure. It is just so that we can get an idea of the feasibility of the GTG in September.

The last thought was that we do this in Umlalazi and Ongoye as this was some of Riaan's favourite hangouts. Hester suggested that we can also redo a Richards Bay caravan park weekend and then do the drive though the dunes to Nyoganani Beach for a breakfast and kuier.

Let me know what your thoughts are and alternative suggestions are welcome.

Looking forward to see you all again!

    Hi Marais

We will obviously try and get there, but will only be able to confirm closer to the time depending on business commitments… it’s quite a drive for us so an extra days holiday will give us some more time to get there and back.

A perfect opportunity to test out our new (old) pop up caravan, half tent kinda thing.
As always the caveat re Erica but we would love to be there.
    Keep us informed.
As long as we can get there with a 12 or 13" rim / tyre set up it will be OK wherever you decide to camp.
Hopefully I will have converted it by then.
So put us down as a strong possible.
PS: Markus: Do not forget to bring Peter's Pan !!!!
Can't wait to meet all the good folk again and just get out there.
