    Default Nissan Xtrail advice needed

    Hi All

Iíve become interested in the Nissan Xtrail 2.5l petrol.
I never looked at this vehicle and donít know much about it except reading up on it here and there.
I always like to hear from those with the experience.
    1. What is the fuel consumption like?
    2. Maintenance costs? Living with it expenses?
    3. Reliability with regards to the older models with high mileage?
    4. Common problems?
    5. Preventative maintenance that can be done?
    6. Does it have low range and centre diff lock?

Iím always grateful for all the knowledge on this forum.

    Drove a 2014 for about 3 years.
Very comfortable and lots of space.

No difflock in the CVT I drove, but 4x4 did work. Just be aware that it's very low to the ground.

Mine had very low kilometers so it was serviced at the dealers. Hell of expensive to maintain and service, but all cars are.

    I still miss mine.

My wife has the 2.5 with CVT, it is great on the road and I enjoy driving it long distance. It has plenty of power and fuel consumption is good, 12km/l at 130 cruising long distance and overtaking is a breeze. I would not consider the 1.6 diesel over the petrol.
With the CVT you cannot change the tire size so the low profile will limit 4x4 driving severely. I would not want to take it off road apart from the occasional sandy patch.

What do you think of the 2.2 diesel available? It is a 2005 model for excellent price. 254k on odo

Was looking for the 2.5 petrol but unfortunately each one we looked at was butchered.

Research the diesel engines because I know some of them are hellish expensive repair but are otherwise great when running.
