    OK, challenge accepted.
However - you need to give me some time to search find and compress (whatever) the pics from times past. (Especially since dear old Microsoft has "disappeared" my usual camera & pic editing software programs.

Our trips were all done with the old (Now) Suuz and modified (Glider Hunter) / Venter-type trailer fitted with RTT.
So, sure - NOT an off-road van.
In fact far a lighter, basic and most likely unrecommended trailer - adapted to suit.
I must say not entirely without problems though.
But we DID IT and we survived even if with some "battle" scars.

A big thanks to this community which assisted us along the way .......

Give me time please and please PM me if I forget - Just a gentle reminder will work wonders.
The old brain seems to be failing me a bit these days.

However, I think many will not believe where the two of us have been with this VERY basic setup and at minimal costs along the years.
Just be patient and help me to to do it please.

    NO offence will be taken!!!
These days I don't even trust myself (OK, I will say it yet again just to be bad _ "EISH!"!

I have over 50 Gigs of DATA saved - mostly pics and videos, so just have to do some searching for topic relevant ones.

Although we started caravan camping in 1993, our off road holidays only began in 2009 with an Imagine Trailvan.

After nearly 45000 kilometres we "upgraded" to a Commander in 2013. Over the years we had been to Namibia (few times), Botswana, Zambia & Zimbabwe.

As I work through our photos, I will post them in holiday sequence, starting with our 2009 Namibian holiday of well over 6000 km.

Herewith a few from our 2009 trip through Namibia. It's not in any specific sequence.

Similar story for us - But we started in 1976!
With a tiny, very used, Sprite 400 (Or was it 500 ?) caravan behind our then almost new Triumph 2000 MK2 (Straight six).
The new car cost us the astronomical amount of R 3450 off the showroom floor !

The very first trip we ever did with the caravan was approx. 6 000 KM (Never towed anything before).
Stopped at Verwoerd Dam (under construction at the time) to overnight, "camping" in total mud on a construction site.
Torrential thunderstorm downpour, but our elder daughter (So about 3 years old at the time) almost immediately found a friend and brought her back to the caravan.
    Yes, interesting start for us.

We travelled from George in the Southern Cape where I was working at the time, up to a sugar estate in the northern part of Swaziland (Forget the name right now) to meet up with my younger sister who had settled there with her new husband.
    He worked on the estate.

Then back via Golden Gate , staying in a self catering hut due to kiddie problems, at Van Reenen's campsite as it was at the time.
    Then back home.
No off-road - although the "Rendall Highway" from (I think, Border Gate") in the north was a bit of a challenge at the time.
The "highway" was a VERY badly corrugated gravel road.
My very small firearm was held at the border post forcing us to exit via the same point even though not optimal for our route.

    And so the bug bit.

If required episodes could follow - Memories dependent.

Just remember Pella camp and Klein Pella camp are two completely different camps. Pella camp was just a spot on T4A. Nothing else. It was like wild camping

It also was so hot that night, we ended up sitting outside. We just could not sleep. Klein Pella camp, I think, is part of the Carstens Boerdery.
I stand to be corrected. We did stop there to buy dates.
