Default Home Workshop in Cape Town

Howdy. I need some mods done on a lawnmower. 4 holes drilled, a bolt welded in, a bearing welded on and a hole drilled for a split pin.

Not the kind of thing mower repair people do. Engineering people are not interested or they have too much to say, blah BLAH BLAH...

So, my question, anyone in the SS have a home workshop, and can help me with this, I would appreciate it. I have already made the bits that need to be fitted. The lighter in the pic is for scale.

Can show my appreciation in big square bottles, small green round bottles or randelas.

Pop moi a message. Thanks in advance.

You can also try Link Engineering in Maitland.
I have been using them for many years.
Great work. No attitude. Good workmanship. No issues with small jobs.

Was about to suggest Gary, too.
I get home the 18th, so the weekend should be good.
Gary can weld it, I'll offer unneeded advice and Rob can supervise.
Shouldn't take more than a day and a box of plasters.....
    Cheers,

Ok, being inquisitive, here is what transpired today. I called a man called Mr Monk(not the TV detective). Not a problem, pop round. So of we went to Montague Gardens. Ok, tell you what, there is my guy, work with him and explain exactly what you want. So we did it, mower on the bench, wheels off and so began the process. Was worried about the welding on the bearing. The bearing is just the pivot point and would just need a small tack so would be ok. Not really load bearing and not really a hecticly important bearing. Basically round and pivots which would do the job perfectly.

Less than an hour later I was on my way home. Dropped a few Randelas, and the world was good.

Got home and set about mowing the lawn. Beautiful. No wavy grass, perfectly flat! Now just to let it grow and after a few cuts will be perfect!

    Success!

    Thanks J!
