Default The 4xCommunity Beer find/rating Fred

Let us share our beer finds here and rate them! (This does not have to be professional)

Found a beer that you like? Please share it here and add where you bought it. Pics are important as well!

Home Brewers welcome, but I kinda want us to actually be able to get our hands on the beers reported so others could also experience your joy!

Lets face it, not all craft brews are spectacular and are often somewhat variable depending how they have been treated and... granted beer taste differ

I don't have a pic but the Eichbaum Red Beer available from Checkers is really good in my opinion and the price is definitely lower than what I'd value the beer. When I see it I buy it!

Another beer I tried that I absolutely loved was Zulu Blonde. It's brewed in Eshowe but I can't seem to find it anywhere in JHB.

My go to 'treat beer' is CBC Amber Weiss. Available a makro, takealot and [email protected]

As per WAJ. N Glass of Toxycd finest. Pale Ale. Very smooth. Goes done the throat much too quickly.

This one was brewed with an American yeast from brewmart on account that a mouse ate the yeast Toxcy gave me... I must say that yeast certainly increased the ABV!

They arent bad beers and considering the prices for imported, they are cheaper than our local craft brews. The wheat is enjoyable but I was disappointed by the head retention and lack of lacing (I only rinse my glasses in cold water, no detergents). Not as sour as I would prefer. Be careful though, they have a 0% alcohol wheat in the range so read the label to make sure you get the one you want.

I went through a 6 pack quite quickly thinking, this toppie is getting stronger, only to muse over the can and discover the 0%

The next time I went to the shop, I rumaged through the shelf and found the proppa one

One of my absolute favourites. Don't even want to share it due to not wanting it to get sold out....

Devils Peak small Afrofunk brews. Juicy Lucy... It is amazing.... Extremely fruity as the name suggests and that is in the taste and the aroma. They have worked some serious magic with this New England IPA...

Also like the Eichbaum Red. Their Pilsner is also good. The prices are really good!

I have had some very good CBC Amber Weiss (the 400ml bottles), but have had some terrible ones as well. (Either been mistreated or too much of the prep stuff as they overflowed instantly upon opening. That also affected the taste)
