Default Bent frontdiff casing on a Jimny !

I had the bad luck of hitting a ditch at not such a high speed and bending my Front diff casing .

Has this happened to other Jimny owners , or was my casing just a bad one ?

I was still accerarating in second when a very bad little dich cought me out .

Funny thing is my wheels are still running true , and I only noticed it when someone pointed it out to me . Even on tar I do not feel any difference in the steering.

But according to TWT's machine my chambers is out by Negative 2'30deg left front and 3'30deg right front .

Now busy trying to source a new Diff casing .

    Ouch, hope you get sorted.
What did you hit in the ditch? The other side dirt wall? Or a rock?

Before you buy a new diff casing, take it to Mark @ Maniac. He's has sorted quite a few out.

Jimny needs all the ground clearance it can get. A truss like that will turn Jimny into a stootskraper.

That would work nicely , but I do not think Suzuki would like that while the Jimny is still under warrenty.

You might get away with having it on top, like my last one.

luckily my diff is sorted !

There is a Guy in Somerset west that repair stock cars , and he also have the tools to straighten any diff .

    R3800 per diff

He did mine For R2800 , says that it was way easier to do mine as the Landcruisers and Landrovers he did before .

Dropped it off at 11 , and was done by 5

Very nice guy , made space for me , so I could leave on my Honeymoon the next day .

If anyone need his details , just PM me and I will send it on .

In the spirit of learning, and with that the use of the correct terms, I want to clear something.

I suspect you bend the axle tube where it joins the diff casing, not the diff casing itself, which is rather difficult to bend, dent yes, but bend, nie sommer nie.

    Could you confirm.

I actually bent both , but it is only by 2.3 left and 3.3 Deg Right!

The diff casing bend in the middle at the welding , probably due to the welding causing the metal to be a bit weaker .

Nou wonder ek maar net oor daai gebuigde diff, en wat lyk soos 'n duik op die bonnet, en voetspore op die bullbar en daai foto van die windpomp.
