I have the Chev Trailblazer 2.5 with the Commander.
I don't have problems towing. SWAMBO was in the beginning not the lightest of packers and still it was not a problem.

Hi everyone
We had recently decided we would like to take the camping thing a bit more seriously and we are considering a proper Boswa. We had a look at the conqueror commander which is awesome...but particularly heavy! (Tare 1380kg). I have the Everest 2.2 4x4 manual.
While the vehicle is rated to tow considerably more, I am a bit worried that the 2.2 might be a little underpowered for such a significant load (I am hoping I am wrong). I also know that something like the 3.2 will tow considerably better - I might consider upgrading at some point, but I would prefer not to.
Are there any out there that have experience with towing something like the commander with a 2.2 Everest? I am taking my FIL's penta out this weekend for a "test ride" which should hopefully give some indication, but would like if someone could comment with some more first hand experience.
Thanks!!

Google know too much.
The figures of about 118kW and about 385Nm suggests that it will work. Obviously 147kW and 470Nm will work better.

I tow a Jurgens Excape Tara 1400kg with a 2.2 Ranger Auto 4x4 xls without any problems. Overtaking however has to be considered carefully, since acceleration between 80 to 100 km/h is not a spirited affair.

Just some feedback; I towed the penta (tare is 1280kg I think) and the 2.2 performed reasonably well. Could maintain its speed (100 - 110kmh), but went up a few steep inclines where dropping a gear to two was required. Felt very stable over the whole trip.
Overall I think it would manage a commander okay, but then again something lighter would be much more comfortable.
