Default Isuzu clutch issue - Port Elizabeth

    Hi all,

Clearly my sooz thinks I got a fat bonus... just stopped in PE and my clutch pedal dropped. Lost pressure and is struggling to operate. I suspect the clutch is also almost out so I am asking for referrals in PE to drop her off for a fix. We need to head back to CT again on Sunday.

    Any referrals?

    Baie dankie

Try Gearbox and Diff Centre, or Rex Diff and Gearbox (RDG).

It could be a defective slave cylinder only.

Definitely slave cylinder issue too. However, last week the clutch slipped quite bad in 1st so it is worth pulling the gearbox to check anyway. I literally looked at clutch prices last week thinking it is going to go soon.

On the way to PE today I said to swambo that it's time to save for clutch replacement... ek moet my bek hou

RDG full and referred me to CBS. Santam sending a flatbed. My release bearing is now stuck and the clutch cannot disengage.

Part sourced in Pretoria and courier got it here in 20 hours. THANK YOU ARAMEX!

    R5300 for a slave cylinder

If anyone knows why these slave cylinders have the plug and solenoid, please enlighten me? The parts description on some sites make reference to cruise control... perhaps something to do with that.

Quite a few people have had failures on these. Water ingres appears to be a common cause of failure. Maybe have yours checked.

I'm assuming that's an original part from the agent's?

They do get pricey, how much will the full job incl clutch cost?

Yes, I had to buy from them. I phoned a few spares shops and they didn't keep aftermarket parts.

If the clutch is gone too, I can add about R8500 for a new one, excluding labor and flywheel skim.
