    Default Moon River Bush Camp

At the end of February, we spent 2 nights at Moon River Bush Camp in the southern Cederberg. There are only 2 campsites about 700m apart, so silence and simplicity are the order of the day. We stayed at Sugarbush Camp, it has an open-air flush toilet and cold shower, there is however no shade or grass. We will certainly return for a longer period next time. There are a couple of walks one can do.

River Camp is the other campsite, which has an enclosed flushing toilet, tap and dishwashing sink, there is a rudimentary 3x4m shade awning and some grass, but also no shade.

The 3rd photo shows the river at Sugarbush and the 4th one is the closest pool to River Camp, the last photo was taken on the road out.

    Thanks for the info Malcolm.
I noticed their signboard when I drove passed there recently and made enquiries. Their tariff is also very reasonable. I'm just worried about the no shade problem, that area can get blistering hot!
But the privacy of the sites does beckon me!

Yes, shade can be a problem. It was fairly hot when we were there but enough of a breeze to make it bearable. They are also helped by the fact that they are at about 1000m, Mount Cedar and Algeria for example are about 500m. There was no signboard on the road when we were there.
