Morning Forumites,
Following some discussions on another thread, I have decided to give an online "training" session a go.
Some things that we need to decide on will be:
1. Platform to be used. I was thinking in the line of Ms Teams or Zoom where I can share my screen while going through the process.
2. Then we need to decide on a date/day of week. As a start, would it work on a Saturday for an hour or so? Either in the morning or afternoon. I suppose one can do it on a weekday evening also.
3. Then the topics to cover.
4. As it will be an online session the number of attendees would not be such a serious matter.
Following the above, I would suggest that we start of with some basics and then move on to some route planning. I have received a GDB file from @Nicobie that we can use as a starter.
I was also thinking of going through drawing "tracks" in Google Earth and transfer them to Basecamp and then onto the GPS for routing.
Depending on how many people in the session, I propose that we keep it very informal and more of a discussion than a formal training session. In this way we can learn from each other and to find solutions to specific questions.
As this will be the first time I will be doing this, I would really appreciate your input and suggestions.
As per the suggestion on how to organise a GTG/event, I will reserve the 2nd post for a list of attendees.
Cheers.
Danie.

This is something that I’d be interested in.

Always have been wanting to learn more about Basecamp/Google Earth and routing. Purely self taught and am sure there are very many useful tricks that I am ignorant about. Add me please!

I am doing a bit of investigation now on the platform. Started with Zoom and saw now that with the basic version I will be limited to a 40minute session. I don't think that wil work.
The MS Teams that comes standard with my Family Office 365 doesn't have a meeting scheduler as far as I can gather.
I will do some more research and talk to some people on what will work best. I do not necessarily want to lay out cash for a Pro package. But it has to work and I will let you know as soon as I have something.
Thanks.
