Danie, dont let the 40 min Zoom bug you too much. You go for 40 min, session ends and everyone just reconnects. And again and again....

It seems as if the response is quite good. Fortunately it will be done online and I did not have to arrange a venue. I will add my email below as well as on post 1. I will then ask everybody to email me notifying me of your interest to attend. I will then send out an email to everybody with the link to the online session.

The only change to my plan of a very informal "discussion" rather than a formal training session, will be that the number of people in the session will "force" a more structured approach with Q&A after each section covered. I have started to plan out an "agenda" in my head that will basically cover the points below. As you will note, I would want to spend a couple of minutes an the basics, to make sure everybody is on the same page.

    1. Basic GPS/Garmin terminology.
    2. Basic differences between street navigators and off road orientated navigators/GPS's
    3. Differences between Mapsource and Basecamp
    4. Understand the "logic/structure" of Basecamp i.e. storing of info/data, folders, lists, etc.
    5. Q&A
    6. Creating waypoints
    7. Creating and working/changing routes
    8. Q&A
    9. Creating tracks in Google Earth and transfer to Basecamp then to GPS
    10. Q&A

I still need to "fine tune" the above and would value your input also. Especially if you have specific questions. If you can email that through with your email to "book" your spot, I can see how and where to address that.

Time also flies when one is having fun. Without having worked out everything in detail, I would guess that the above could easily keep us busy for up to 2 hours depending on the number of questions and how long it will take to answer them. Depending on how it goes, one could always arrange a follow-up session for another time. I also intend to record the session which I will then post in my Tips & Tricks post. However if there are people who will miss the first session and would be more interested in a "live" session, it can always be repeated as well.

If you want to attend and for those who already indicated such, please email me on daniekotze8 at gmail.com.

    Hi All,

I have played around today and it seems as if Ms Teams will work. I will send everybody a link closer to the time. If you don't have Teams installed, it will give you the option to either install the application or to run it in your Internet browser. If you sellect to run it in your browser no login or anything will be required. I have tested it.

Because I am using the free version I cannot access the recording that was done from within Teams. However, I will use another app for the recording of the session. I have tested that also and it seems to be working.

    Cheers.

I'd love to join in, thanks. Mail incoming in the morning. I have the pro version or Teams and may be able to record, not sure if I can if I'm not the host.

If the recording will work from your side it will be a good backup option.

    Thanks.
