Those 22 inch wheels are going to be excellent off road!!

And if it gets here a starting price of about 2.5 million ront, what a bargain.

    They’ve lost the plot.

Landrover Defender was once a working man’s car same as the Mini and VW Beatle at affordable prices, when mini and VW brought out the two cars it went from working mans cars to the upper class with there prices, the same with the pretender now, it is only for the rich

We're talking degrees of uselessness here. Leave the 20 inch rims to the Big Bodies etc, this is a Defender (or meant to be).

I've said this before, but what is the big problem with it having 20" rims? In terms of tyre sidewall, it's only 30mm less than a standard Land Cruiser. Is 30mm really such a big difference? And 20" off road tyres are a lot more common now than they used to be

Closer to 50mm less sidewall versus the old Defender (and LC 70 series). That's 25% - hardly insignificant when going over tough terrain, which is what they should be doing, correct?

Apart from not being able to find a spare 20" outside the major metropolitan areas of SA, which tyre would you feel more comfortable taking on an extended holiday cross border? Or a dune trip, where deflation is the difference between gliding over the sand and grinding away.

"... When asked by Carsales.com.au whether SVO would be developing a Defender V8 that would live up to the badge, van der Sande didn't outright confirm the vehicle, but told the website its 2019 purchase of Bowler—U.K.-based off-road performance specialist firm known for building ultra-capable Land Rover rally trucks—was "very intentional."
