A negative COVID PCR test (72 Hours) is still required when checking in at the Bots desk at Twee Rivieren for the Bots camps, even though you only enter and exit at TR. This was the situation 2 weeks ago when I was there.
Anybody know what the requirements are currently?
We will be traveling to Mabua, entering/leaving at Tweerevieren.
Is PCR required if vaxxed?
Good morning
We are heading to Mata-Mata and Nossob on 18 March 2022.
Does one require a negative PCR test when entering at Twee Rivieren, and only staying at the RSA camps?
Thank you in advance!

The most recent info is that PCR alone is not accepted, only vaccination (plus need to be boosted if due). If you are partially vaccinated you will need a PCR. If you are partially vaccinated and due for a shot (either second shot, or booster) you will need a PCR plus they will give you your next shot at the border. It has not been confirmed whether vaccines are available at Two Rivers.
Good afternoon,
We are due to enter at Twee Rivieren and later to Mabuasehube early April. I phoned the reception desk at Two Rivers, Bots side, and was informed that either one of a negative PCR test or a Vaccination certificate is required. I strongly suggest you contact them at +2676530226 and confirm yourself.
Thanks for the info......... Would love to hear from someone who has done this in the past week
I assume that if you are fully vaccinated you do not need a PCR test anymore if you enter at Bokspits (or at Twee Rivieren if that border opens before 1May 2022) if you are booked to stay in RSA camps from 1 May until 10 May 2022 and then move to Mabua.
If we do not need PCR tests for RSA entry we can then exit Botswana though McCarthys Rust (if that border is now open as reported in other threads)
Update last night by Kopdoek says all 32 small land border posts that were closed for Covid will remain closed and no indication of when they will be opened.

Do we still need a PCR to leave or enter RSA?

So I think the answer to my question yesterday is that we (fully vaccinated) can enter Botswana at Bokspits, go to the RSA side at the Twee Rivieren Office (no PCR required) and then leave at Mabua gate to McCarthys Rust border (if open) or otherwise drive the road south of the KFP and exit at Bokspits (no PCR required).
Agree?
We shall cross Namibia/SA border the 21th of April then go to Botswana via Bokspits and then enter the KTP that we shall exit via Mabua .
I've been told the PCR test was mandatory to enter SA.
Reading this thread and also this i'm not so sure.
Can anyone confirm me that a proof of full vaccination is sufficient to enter South Africa ?
Thanks

HannoK,
According to all reports Bokspits (also a phone call to the Twee Rivieren office about a month ago)has been open for a long time but McCarthys Rust and Bray are still closed. I confirmed this with Dorothy Marnewick at Bray a couple of days ago.
Apparently they need Health Officer.
Who checked our vaccination cards in the past I do not know.
When entering Bots now without a vaxx certificate you need a PCR test and then do another PCR test on border.
How is this applied entering Kgalagadi and camping on Bots side?
