Default Travel through EC coastal region

Hi all, my wife and I am planning a trip through the Eastern Cape. I am looking for any recommendations on routes to drive, cool places to visit or even cool places to camp. We are relatively self-reliant and can do remote living for 3-4 days at a time.

This is what we have at the moment, the "Do stuff" is where I want to insert some cool options:
Drive from Knysna to Green Fountain Farm (close to Port Alfred) 1x night (11th of April)
Drive to Double Mouth Camp site 1x night 12th April
    Do stuff
Camp at Mbumbi 15th of April x1 night
    Do stuff
Camp at TO Strand 17th of April x1 night
Need to be in Illovo by 18th of April late afternoon.

Stop over at Dwesa for two nights. Lots to explore there it is a reserve. Beautiful beaches. Also a guide (nice guy) who can show you around. Very clued up on environment, trees, wildlife, etc.

Drive the Zuurberg pass and do the gravel road through woody cape to Canon Rocks. Easy and scenic routes.

On your first day, i propose that from Alexandria you turn right and drive the golden mile to Cannon Rocks. Take your time. Sleep at Green Fountain and on your wat to EL take a 15min detour to see the Fish River light house.

Lunch at Stanley's (Kenton). Then do the "Poor man's game drive" between Kenton and Port Alfred.

Why not do a "Poor man's gamedrive" through Shamwari? Few people are aware that the main road through Shamwari is a public road and they cannot refuse you access.
