    I'm not used to such big beetles on the West Coast.

    Lots of them around the Western Cape this year.

    Saw one at Marloth Park in December. Just the one I saw was about the size of your Leatherman!

    Needless to say, my wife got a big skrik when it ran across the floor.

    Not a longhorn beetle. If you push down on that bug it will make a strange squeeky noise. Don't really know what they are called, but I've seen them around.

    WD40 and they stop making that noise, a gentle Eish (Uys) noise after if lubricated properly.
