Oh you nasty bugger
I was actually checking Sanparks website yesterday, there seems to be a lot of vacant accommodation. So we will be trying to go at the end of March
Damn, I really miss that place, we haven't managed to go for a couple of years now
Please post as many pics as possible, and it goes without saying, ENJOY !!!!!!

Go for it Alan, there are no school holidays in March this year except Easter weekend first weekend in April. I cannot wait to also be able to go outside peak seasonThe park will be absolutely stunning after all the rains and you might even have rain in March still.
Enjoy Zapiture, I don't have any Kruger photos with me now. Looking forward to your stunning photos when you get back. Which camps are staying at?
But let's not derail the thread, let the pictures flow!

Will be going for a whirlwind trip tomorrow for two nights! Had to cancel Biyamiti due to the road closures and "settle" for lower Sabie.I am suffering form severe Kruger Deficiency Disorder. This will help a little at least. Quite frankly I do not care to much about anything. I just want to be there!
Edit: In staying with the theme of the thread, will look to post some pics next week then.

I will also post some pics as we have succumbed to cabin fever and are leaving for Kruger on Sat (6/02) for 19 days, mainly camping and towards the north. Plenty of vacancies when booking. Please stop us or pull in if you see Slow Donkey.
Punda Maria 8/2 to 12/2 camping
Shingwedzi 12/2 to 16/2
Tsendze (campsite 14) 16/2 to 20/2
Balule 20/2 to 24/2
Talamati 24/2 to 26/2, chalet obviously
Biyamiti 26/2 to 27/2
It will be interesting to see how much the rain affects our camping. If too much, will convert to cottages, plenty of vacancies. We have visited Kruger in Feb before and have had surprisingly good sightings. Enjoy the birds too at this time. Plan plenty of fodies.

Eish Stan - I am SOOOO jealous.
I am waiting for two things here to fall into place:
1. Erica's continued improvement in mobility
2. Off season to take advantage of the "pensioner" discounts.
We do also very much prefer the northern and upper central parts of KNP and also the smaller camps (satellite or rustic).
Punda Maria is one of our favorites especially if you can get a space close to the waterhole / bird hide.
Tsendze is another (Give Roger my regards, if he still remembers me!) - Been waaay too long now.
Could well be VERY hot this time of year though !
Enjoy !!!
AND you can set your watch by the regular visitors (day and night) at that waterhole.
No !! NOT the people, - the ones that own that special place.
Be wary of the lone bull Ellie along the circular route nearby the campground.

Stan, would you give us "stuck at home" folk (For totally different reasons no doubt.), an update on KNP generally and the camps and facilities that you have (are) visiting during this trip.
Not a trip report as such, just an update.
Lucky dog !

So our trip to the Kruger was very special despite the bad weather. We have had more unique sightings than any other visit to the park.
