Watching the video does not do the canyon justice, those that has been through there will know.
We were through there just before the rush of 2018. What an incredible event. Just the way the walls have been carved is something to behold. Here is some pics including one with SWAMBO for perspective:

Something to behold.
One probably do not want to be in the canyon when such a flood strikes, does not seem as if there are much escape routes![]()

Not Sesriem, but I'm posting here because I can't find the thread where the guys got caught in the "dry" river bed...
This is from the Kruger Park, Biyamiti river coming down... https://youtu.be/ZeksrRoNFqk

Sadly, no photos will ever do the canyon justice... Not mine at any rate - your's get closer to the feeling. Excellent photos. Thanks for that.
I definitely agree though. I found the canyon so more impressive than all the "vleis" (sossusvlei, dooievlei etc). The canyon feels almost "church like". I absolutely loved the place.
The scary part is, considering how deep the canyon is, realising how much water must have come down in order to fill it...
On a side note, nobody got my earlier joke. Well, either that or (and probably more likely) it was just not funny...![]()
