Citroen C5

Can anyone recommend a Indy that can do a check and repair to a Citroen C5 engine. It seems as if engine exhaust gasses are being discharged into the coolant. Engine still runs well but this could develop into a major failure if not tended to. Citroen dealers are ridiculous with their quote.

I doubt if there is any damage to the head and think it is only the gasket that has gone. Citroen state that they won’t just replace the gasket.

are you losing any coolant? Could be a failed egr cooler, might be worthwhile checking it out before doing a head gasket replacement.

Get somebody to pressure test the radiator. Last year I had similar symptoms, thought a head gasket popped. Turned out to be a leak between two sections of the radiator which was picked up by doing a radiator pressure test (Radiator was repaired for around R3k). Hope for the best!

We had a Jaguar with the 2.7 V6 diesel as from D3 - yip in plat car that thing was great .. used 2 turbo's though and travelled.
