Been down all the rabbit holes. Yamaha has different serial numbers and model numbers for EMEA and North America. This is an American site and my model is not traceable. Last night I think I found and equivalent American model number and the the Manual will cost circa R 1500. A bit much if it turns out to be the incorrect one.

Yamaha simply do not seem to keep old data for European models while in the States the market is so big you can get most anything.

Yes, I know about that problem. I did this exercise with the 70HP on my boat and eventually found a way to compare the models to each other. I just need to do some digging.

If you wouldn't mind what is the model number of your motor?

    I believe that the 200GETO = P200TR

The manual is for, amongst others a P200, I have not idea what the TR stands for.

The other issue is that despite having only 48 hours on the motor it is already 16 years old.

I have the manual in PDF for L200W and P200W
I suspect these are hoever older than the V Max designation.

What is the problem, or just for curiosity's sake?

Andrew have you tried contacting any of the boating shops? It's a long shot but they might be able to assist?

No problem. The longer I leave it the more difficult it will be to get a manual if there is a problem.

I have a workshop manual for my 130hp V4 Yamaha, never used it bit you never know.

I would also like the owners manual.

I believe you are right with the cross reference.

The TR designation is for Trim and Tilt as well as Remote control i.e. not tiller arm. 200HP engines are all electric start and from 2006(April 2005) the model year was on a separate sticker and no longer in the model number.

It is also worth noting that the owners manual I have for my motor covers all variants i.e. it covers tiller and remote control, manual and power trim etc. It even covers all the HP outputs from 50HP to 70HP as they are all the same basic motor with differences being mainly in the carburettors used.

I would also recommend contacting Linex Yamaha in PTA and ask for a quote on a new manual based on your VIN. The cost might be less than R1500.00

I have downloaded the entire workshop manual for free all 367 pages of it. I will simply print sections of it as and when required.
