Is Northern Natal getting rain?
Zerubbabel the 2008 4.8 Patrol
Nothing, not even a mighty mountain, will stand in Zerubbabel’s way!
At Ndumo we have had only 7mm thus far and no wind. Southerly 2km/ hour. They are predicting more rain tonight. The humidity however is just unbearable

Will some areas of S Africa benefit from Eloise. Will it effect St Lucia. ? Will the Jozini Dam or rivers in that area benefit?

We will need to wait and see what happens tonight and tomorrow in Northern KZN.The Met people are saying that the cold front will collide with the ITCZ which Is much lower than normal as a consequence of Eloise. This is where the predicted heavy rain will come from.
There is light rain at the moment in Richards Bay.
This is what I have been reading, sounds about right to me, only problem I have with the weather folks is their contant use of words like could, possible, might or potential
This is the kind of thing that weather enthusiasts thoroughly enjoy because it represents a co-incidence of events that is rare: two fronts about to clash to produce areas of heavy rain. There is lots of talk about rain from cyclone Eloise spreading into Mpumalanga, Eswatini, and north KZN. This will happen, but will not be the DIRECT effect of the tropical storm. The tropical disturbance ex-Loise will be a completely separate independent entity as shown! The diagram shows the situation for Sunday evening. Eloise will be a Tropical disturbance "LE" dropping rain in north Limpopo and south Zimbabwe. It's heaviest rain area is marked with a white colored letter "A". But a major significance is that it has dragged the ITCZ (Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone) all the way south to the eastern escarpment of RSA. This is drawn as a green and wiggly yellow line, and is a zone of great potential instability, which will be realized when it clashes directly against the cold front "F4" arriving from the south being pushed northward for it's rendezvous by the anticyclone "HA8" south of the Cape. This chance clashing of completely different air types will be the cause of the heavy rain area marked "B" and will develop late on Sunday and last throughout Monday. It is a remarkable event not to be missed.

Interesting event. Lots of areas need rain, some might get too much.

Kruger seemed to have had good rain, but without major damage. A few roads were closed like the Punda - Shingwedzi road, but I believe it open again this morning. Crocodile bridge was also closed this morning, open again now.
Pretoria is very windy by Pretoria standards. We were quite fascinated by the different formations of clouds yesterday and the speed they went past. We had soft rain during the night, with howling winds.
