Thanks Pat, itís been a while since I visited Botswanaís parks. How does that compare to the last set of fees, particularly for SADC?

Hie RobH. These were the previous fees. I used to pay P10, now it’s P30 per day. SADC was P120 now its P205.00.

Thanks for the info. Are you able to confirm the camping fee for the Mabua and Mpaya campsites with the Inter-Tourism Group? Is US$35pp/pn for international visitors correct? Thanks again!

Hi guys, I take the advantage of the topic to ask you question about the park fees of KTP.
I'll spend 2 night at Mata Mata, 2 nights at Rooiputs and 2 nights at Polentswa.
Am I correct to say that my fees will be the following (as international):
    - 2 nights at mata 360R for campiste and 406R park fees per day
    - 2 nights at Rooiputs 30P for campsite 24P for parkfees + vehicle per day
    - 2 nights at Polentwa 30P for campsite + 24P for parkfees + vehicle per day
The fees in Pula are the current rates, if I got it right from 2022 it would be 40P campsite + 190P park fees + 75P vehicle fees per day. Still, the parkfees of DWNP would lower than Sanparks, so is it correct that 54P fees paid to DWNP (or 265P from 01.04.2022) are valid for the southafrican side as well?
    Thnak's for any clarification
    Cheers

Yes DiscoFrans, effect from 01st April 2022. Any bookings from the above date. Due to COVID, we have deferred again some of my bookings, from June 2020 now deferred again to June 2022 because the situation isnít improving. This is a situation for operators with international guests. Some lodges are charging 5% charge if you defer to 2022 again. Donít know if any one has yet experienced that.

Since you have been so kind/successful in answering all of my questions, may I please ask another. Are to you able to confirm what camping fee (for international travelers) Big Foot Tours is charging for their campsites in CKGR? I assume that the DWNP park and vehicle fees given above apply. Many thanks!

So effectively you'll be paying R430 pppd for park fees. Real shame Bots doesn't have anything like the SANParks WildCard. This is getting very expensive and it feels like they're trying to keep overlanders out (in favour of the expensive lodges)?

Good evening. I wonder if anyone can help. Iíve been looking at the new Park fees effective 1 April 2022.
Is the camping fee (circled in red) in addition to the camping fee paid to the private operators?
    Many thanks,Linda

No. These are camping for DWNP run campsites. As for privately RUN(not owned) campsites, referred to their websites.

Hi Christoff, this seems to be the way of things in Africa. Covid has led to a massive reduction in revenue to the governing bodies - this is not a problem, the solution is to increase revenue by whacking the fees of those that will still support the governing body by ummmm 71% (P120 increased to P205). The same thing happened in Zimbabwe, houseboats became less popular as the economic crunch came, same solution, let us charge those that are still coming a greater fee, absolutely crazy

I think the fees are getting out of hand to be honest. They really should consider much better rates for SADC visitors.

PARK FEES SADC CURRENT: P 120 / per day
    PARK FEES SADC 2022: P 190 (Almost 60% increase)
CAMP FEES CURRENT: P 30 / per day
    CAMP FEES 2022: P 40 (33,3% Increase)
VEHICLE FEES CURRENT: P 50 / per day
    VEHICLE FEES 2022: P 75 (50% Increase)
TRAILER FEE CURRENT: P 0 / per day
    TRAILER FEE 2022: P 40

So if you add all of these fees up - it really is getting expensive. I think they need to slow down a bit or they are going to make it unaffordable and will only end up losing more revenue as people will stop going because they can't afford it.
