    Default 2010 3.2 v6 GV

    Hi All

I currently have a 2.4 Summit 2019 model. This is my 2nd one. I'm having some wild thought around having another GV for weekend warrior fun stuff. I saw a 2010 3.2 V6 with 177K on the clock. What is everyone's opinion on that model? Is the mileage a concern?

    Just testing the water...

From the posts I have seen, only the Throttle Body and I think Serpentine Belts become an issue, get them replaced and it should all be good still.
I bought mine at 55k, and currently at 155k, and it still drives like a dream. Standard creak here and there, but everything else is going good.

I am going to sell mine sometime, company is moving us over to company vehicles, but I need to repair a scrape/ding on my front fender first.

There are plenty of guys who has driven their cars a lot more than I did mine, and I am sure they will be happy to comment.

Edit, you talking about the Silver one in Durban?

    Thanks for your view.
Yes, it's the one on WeBuyCars. Didn't know it is Durban. I've just check now and you're right.

I love my 2008 V6. Bought it with 150k on. Now has 210k. No issues at all, just maintenance stuff, shocks, shock mounts cos why not I'm doing the shocks. I get 13l/100km ave over the last almost 4 years now.
I clean the throttle body about once a year with throttle body cleaner.
Car drives beautifully on road and once you learn how to use the electrickery it is awesome off road too.
I have a Stofpad 40mm lift kit and steel undies. Excellent quality and really good value for money.
I run standard 18inch rims with 235/70/18 Yokohama Geolandar GO15 AT tyres.

Your only issue with buying one is that once you drive it you will want to drive it all the time ... just make sure services and all have been done - you should know the other GV "issues" that appear from your current stable - check for oil leaks at side-shafts, torn lower control arm bushings, etc. Coming from Natal, check for rust underneath.

Interestingly mine has had a oil weep from the day I had it on 88000kms, no oil ever touches the ground but I do get oil around the lower block - the technical bulletin said not an issue if you don't get drops .. so never worried me .. now on 205k and purring like a tiger.

The nice thing is the 3.2 drives around 2200rpm most of it's life, unless you are hitting it, which is always tempting ... so engine really does not work hard.

Would not sell mine unless i was getting a land cruiser or something bigger, but it suits my lifestyle and we have had many happy adventures.

Agreed, if it ever did real offroading that nudge bar would have been the first thing to be removed.

It's got a towbar. I wonder what it's been towing?

The 3.2V6 was supplied standard with towbar

... my bad, seems it was not - mine came complete with a Suzuki wiring loom and Suzuki towbar - but I got it second hand, and I was too young to own one when they first came out ;-)

Mine doesn't have a towbar either.
Does look to be in good condition, I would check the transmission oil dipstick just to make sure the oil is a nice light color and not black / dirty, will give you a hint whether it has seen heavy use.

Found an ad on Gumtree this morning for a 2010 with 176900 km for R120K. Looks pretty neat. I had to put down a deposit to secure it. Itís in Durbs so Iíll have to go there this weekend.

Because paying a deposit is pretty much synonymous to falling for a scam these days?

Yes, that Iím fully aware of. Iíve done some background check on the seller, his wife and their business. All seems legit. Spoken with him on a the phone a few times, plus sending a friend over later today to do a final check.

Iím more concerned with if the vehicle has a history or not.

Okey fine then. Just thinking the request of a deposit is weird. Hope it is not a scam. They are using initiative these days hey...

Didn't know you were still looking for a V6.
If you don't come right, come chat to me about mine, getting a company car, so will need to sell.
Cosmetically a little worn, but mechanically all good, I can also give you every bit of detail on the car for the 100k I had the pleasure of driving it.
Going to fix a bump and a dent here as soon the insurance gets back to me.
