At some point I want to visit Pro Auto Rubber and see what they have. They might have something that works in this area. I need to change on both my Landie's

Hi all,
About a year ago I replaced the crusty seals on the vents of my Defender. I got them from British 4x4 (no fault of them) who at the time only had Britpart available. Those who have seen these seals know they are two parts, a high density foam and low density foam and they're glued/fuse/molded together. Anyway the past week or so these two layers have started to separate. This has obviously caused them to not seal properly and also be unsightly when open.
My question to everyone is, are there alternative brands because my search only returns more britpart ones? Also, I see the older defenders used a rubber seal which fitted to the bulkhead and not the vent, would these still fit on a 2002 Td5? I have a feeling the foam is an inherently bad design and a rubber seal would outlast even the best manufactured foam seal.
Thanks!

I replaced my Defender's seals and they did not last very long - then I used the grey self adhesive tape - the type you get at any building or automotive store and that sealed better than the original seals. Several years now still working fine.
I also wanted to go the rubber seal way but was told that is for earlier models of Land Rovers.

Only way is original LandRover seals and that goes with door seals as well

Unfortunately that is the feedback I get from other forums to.
For seals on doors and vents go original.
So are the Land Rover vent seals also two part foam just better quality or a different material?
I had heard this about the door seals, which I am struggling with as well as previous owner/s had used a britpart door seal as well and now it's affecting the drivers door closing.

This may seem like sacrilege but I sealed the vent flaps completely, this took away some road noise as well. The defender AC does what it needs to...for the front passengers at least.![]()

Photos please.
The older s3 landy had a solid rubber vent seal which was glued to the firewall instead of the vent flap..thats the way to go but the problem is it isnt easy to install..
I tried to stick on the series type but gave up trying ..its tricky.
