Default Seeking assistance with gaming pc in Port Elizabeth

    Hi all,

Looking for a member in Port Elizabeth with some knowledge about computers and their specs.

My son is looking to purchase a pre owned gaming pc in PE, and we'd like to make sure het gets what he's paying for.

I'm still waiting for the address / area in which the seller is residing and make available once obtained.

Ideally I would want the member to also assist with collecting the item once paid, and will try to accomplish this whilst he is still with the seller.

    Anyone that can assist?

Why not rather buy online and get it delivered, Evetech's prices are very good.

I'm always scared to buy a computer secondhand, too many things that can be wrong that you won't see like bad sectors on the HD, corrupt Bios, bad memory, cracked motherboard etc.

Do not go to Evetech, aftersales service is 100% poor.

If you're going to shop online, got to Wootware.

Alternatively, there's a very helpful 2nd hand PC parts site called Carbonite.co.za. The community is very helpful and will welcome a parent enquiring about getting a pc for their child.

My experience with Evetech has been 100% positive - although I know about the complaints against them.

I built a new gaming PC for my son and a lower spec one for myself last December.

The parts were ordered from Wootware, Evetech and Rockin IT.

Upon installation I realized that the pump of the water-cooler( bought from Evetech) in my PC is broken.

Contacted Evetech and within 2 e-mails my old cooler was collected and a new one was send to me. No hassles or questions , just good service.

Will I buy from them again ? - Yes, based on my experience and their prices are generally very good.

I have a friend that is heavy into gaming and has been for the past 15 years. Evetech.... stay far away from them according to him. No after sale service whatsoever and guarantees not being honored.

He is also on Carbonite which is where he heard about this deal in question. If I had him there to check things out, all would have been great.

Buying new is not an option and this is a very very expensive hobby, and my son is paying for this himself. Which is why I would want a member to assist and checking it out, even inspecting the physical components and advise whether all looks ok, and maybe assist with collecting and shipping it.
