When at Fynbos, take a drive to Tulbagh. Beautifully restored after the earthquake. Twee Jongzellen Winery. True Cape Dutch architecture.
When in Sutherland, I assume you want to take a look at SALT? Well worth the visit.
Also, the guy who owns Sterland (Jurg) does a great stargazing activity if you're into that sort of thing. He's very knowledgeable. Starts with a lecture, then it's off to his telescopes where he points out some interesting stars and constellations for you to look at. I loved it.
But, I suppose that's why you're going to Sutherland in the first place?
The golf course is also worth a look for "amusement". There is no grass on the fairways, only semi-desert and because of that you can also use a tee on the "fairways". The greens are actually black; I believe some sort of building sand mixed with oil to bind it...

I had planned the following camps last year April when I went on leave:
Karoo NP
Tankwa NP _ Perdekloof
Stormsrivier mond
Camdeboo NP
We unfortunately were stopped from staying anywhere after our third night in Karoo NP because of the hard lockdown that was implemented then.
We moved all the bookings to February 2021
So we will be visiting two of the places on your list in three weeks time, and we had visited Karoo NP last year.
Karoo NP I enjoyed tremendously, and the camping area is very nice, with lots of shade and clean well maintained ablutions.
They were very good with COVID precautions then, so I expect the same now.
Ill give feedback on Tankwa and Camdeboo as soon as we have been there..![]()
