Default Toyota 1HZ EGR blanking/removal advice please

    Good day

Is there anyone here that have personally modified or removed their EGR nonsense from their 1HZ motor?

If you squeeze in a blanking plate between the EGR pipe and the intake manifold will that little pipe still manage to fit? I mean the plate will lift the pipe away and since it's solid metal will the pipe still join there without a hassle?

It seems easier to just throw the pipe out and fit two blanking plates, one on the exhaust manifold and then the other on the intake manifold.

I've searched the internet and haven't really come across good info.

Help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    I have done it.

I bought the following from Toyota (09 May 2017):
    Part number 1786117030 1 x Connector Intake @ R612.84 less 20%
    Part number 2563317020 2 x Gasket EGR Valve @ R67.24 each less 20%

Went to the scrapyard and bought a piece of mild steel 6 or 8mm.

Removed the original EGR Connector & pipe that goes to exhaust manifold. Installed the new Connector with the gaskets bought. I then made a blanking plate from the scrapyard off cut. Also remember to close off the rubber suction pipe that connects to the original EGR Connector.

I have read about guys modifying the original EGT Connector, but prefer the Toyota Connector - earlier 70 series models came standard with the parts listed above.

Maybe just put a ball bearing in the suction tube that open and closes the valve that lets exhaust gas to the intake...?

I have just removed the suction pipe from the EGR main body and sealed both ends. It works for me.
I will appreciate comments on risks...

A big thank you to everyone that commented, I really appreciate it.

Keeping all that soot out of the engine is really great!

    Hi Karrooseun

Met wat het jy die twee oop pypies geblok?

Dit klink na n baie maklike oplossing op daai EGR af te sit.

My 2007 came without it. New nose, double difflocks but still old dash and no airbags.

I have done it, just pulled the connector plug from the EGR system, so it can't function.
