    Does not last long enough

Normal cheese we wrap in those cloths impregnated with bees wax really work well

Keep it in the paper it is wrapped in. It is special paper imported from France for the brie and camembert.

Normal cheese the fabric dipped in bees wax is awesome otherwise an airtight container.

Plus, remember cheese should be eaten at room temperature, so try to leave them out the fridge for an hour or two before eating, and if the cheese is nkt strong enough, store in a cool place like a cupboard for several days with checking each day. The ambient (15 to 20 devrees)Temps helps to activate the cultures and makes them ripen faster

Where can Petite France cheeses be found in Cape Town, ideally southern suburbs?

Are any of the commonly available supermarket Feta cheeses decent as in being real cheese and not chemical soup?

This might be a stupid question, but I bought this yogurt last week, but realise no where on the packaging appears the word 'yogurt', not even on the ingredient column. Surely if you produce real yogurt you would want to advertise it? Do they make 'fake' yogurt, like fake coffee?
You answered your own question, but it's not fake yogurt at all. It does not even pretend to be yogurt. We get conditioned to certain types of packaging!

To clarify, for many years yogurt never ever came in the little six-pack containers.

My mom either made her own or bought it in large tubs, it was always white.

My daughter milks goats herself and processes 100 liters of goat milk per week on average, making mainly yogurt and feta.

Unfortunately or fortunately ..it depends !! she lives in the Portuguese countryside.

Anyway, in the Western Cape, we are spoilt for real things.

Dalewood Fromage for farm butter, yogurt, milk, and fantastic brie, as well as several of the other cheeses. Not far from them is Fairview, apart from the wine, the cheese they make is great.

In my vicinity we have Kleinrivier cheese. Parmesan, Raclette, Gruyere and so on.

Just a bit further on we have Stonehouse. Pecorino amongst others. I am not sure if the pecorino is made from sheep's milk as it should be, but anyway, there are more cheese makes, most excellent.

Lastly, condensed milk, geez so simple. Sugar and milk.... boil, viola !

Now that this fake yoghurt thread has turned into a cheesy one, why do SA brie and camembert develop this horrible salmiac flavour when getting ripe? None of the European ones do that. They ripen or mature and become stronger in flavour, but stay edible.
And it doesn't matter, even "hand crafted" brie and camembert do that here.
I remember before the take over, Simonsberg was just the same, now that the French President has bought them, it's much better.

Ours should be exactly the same as over seas (French) brie and camemebert as all the cultures amd rennet is imported, we do nkt have the usual jerseys and Holstein cows but have Swiss reds and jersey mix. Our packaging is imported from France and the recipe and company was started and done by a French cheese maker before my current boss bought it. My current boss has always been the milk supplier to this brand too and was specifically chosen by the French cheese maker.

In SA, the cheese is made for the market. Many people don't like strong flavour cheese and also will rather eat the cheese long before sell by which is why the local producers don't worry about the aging of the cheese. It is even clear of that due to the packaging used, cannot tell how firm the brie or camembert is when buying and only when package is opened and you want to eat it.
