    Am I right? Found a few of them in the garden over the last weekClick image for larger version.

    I would rather say eastern green snake. They have yellow bellies and are harmless. If the belly is pale whitish, possibly green mamba or boomslang.

    There are six common "green snakes" found in SA - only 2 highly venomous - the green mamba and the boomslang.
    The other four are harmless.

    Yours, based on the size eye and position of the eye, looks like a eastern green snake, they live off small birds, eggs, and insects.

    Will not be a Green Mamba. ( Out of range )

    I will go with one of Natal Green Snakes. Western Natal Green ( my guess )
