After years and years of being very protective, you can now grow your own very similar to the branded bottled ones. I’m starting with 2 varieties this year that I want to ferment with a few 7 Pot Chaguanas for bite.

Cheers All, finally got this round thing alive. Soaked soya, red wine, garlic infused lamb shanks, with some fresh Rosemary, carrots and some baked spuds. Did not have time to braise..Click image for larger version.

    It's actually not a curry
    I'll explain

    Ingredients
3 x packs hearts, I always trim the fatty end with the Aorta that sticks out ,not necessary just prefer it
    1 x pack giblets
    1x pack necks
    1 or 2 packs livers
    1 x big onion
    Salt
1 x can diced tomatoes or fresh
Bunch coriander ,chop stalks and leaves separately
    Garlic to taste
    Big spoon paprika
1 x cup yogurt or cream
    3 x bay leaves
    Chillies to taste
Herbs of your choice (thyme/ chicken herbs and spices)
    Stock cube or 2
Peri Peri or prego sauce to taste (unlike curry powder you can add while going along

    Method
    Have everything ready goes quick

Make like you would make curry
Fry a big onion till soft, oil or coconut oil,
Add garlic, herbs ,Peri Peri, ,chilli,
Start with giblets let them get good rev,
add hearts ,stir so they get a good coating, add necks ,stalks ,salt...
Turn down heat and let it simmer a while
    Add tomatoes, stock
Let this all cook on low ,till it gets tender, can take a while, stir occasionally.
I use the pressure cooker on the curry setting
When all is done check heat(chillie heat, salt)add livers, yoghurt, coriander leaves, you may need to thicken
    Simmer a while longer

Serve with your choice of starch, I like pot steam bread, rice is fine as well
    Most important
    ENJOY
    This will serve 6 adults

The American guest was blown away ,2 servings later he said he had never had such comfort food and was there enough for tomorrow ...

Cold rainy day here in the lowveld and as promised I tried this recipe with a couple of mini loaves made in the pizza oven. It did not disappoint at all!

10 out of 10! Thanks for sharing
