Thanks for the plan, bought some Oxtail earlier in the week

Wanted to do outside pot but rain started on and off so did in flat pot on gas

Nice big pieces 1.5kg. Meat rolled in braai mix spice. Browned in oil

Take out fried 2 medium onions about shakes of garlic flakes and 2 thai chillies. Took onions out and meat back in. Filled with boiling water to cover meat and slow cooked for 2:00. Topped up with pepsi max and slow cooked another 1:00

Pack carrots, pack small potatoes, pack mushrooms, 2 onions whole, previously fried onions and salt and beef stock block and closed for another 1:00.

Took some pot water earlier and kept and made some couscous

And it was time. Haven't had ot for long and was magic

Sorry Boet, I come with the LW - never shall the twain be separated!!!

A magic cuppla days it was and I learnt something invaluable - I can still do exactly what I did 25 years ago and I can do it with the same intensity and enjoyment, in the same amount of time. Problem is, 25 years ago the recovery period was 2 hours......... Now it is 2 weeks!

    Cheers Guys!

The white & shiny ting with knobs and goeters will have to do duty tonight. Rump strips with julienne-cut veggies, to be stir-fried in a sauce made up of soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, dry sherry and coarse black pepper.

EDIT: I forgot to say, plenty of anti-vampire! I firmly believe that there are only 2 things that you cannot have with garlic - yellow custard and red jelly...
