Oh wow! Seeing that brings a lump to my throat. Always ever seen close ups, it truly is a machine for cooking as Estee said, engineered by a true zululand cook. It just is so sad . . . Still

You perhaps should have used the round black dingus with the deksel.

I share your sentiments Finn. It was a privilege to be served some of the best dishes ever made on an open fire. The hospitality that Riaan had is something that I strive to replicate towards others. Not only a Legend, but a true Gentleman and a great host!!

    We miss you Riaan!!

    Cheers Boyz.

No fire today, gammoned pig is in a pot with ale, sage, thyme and cloves. On the black dingus with knoppies en goeders.

Salmon terrine with basil and sundried tamaters and shrimp for starters.

Poering are cheeses, breads, savory biscuits and preserved fruit.

Coffee, Pfferneus bikkies and Stollen after that.

Cheers RvW, I miss our daily interaction Boet. Its hard to come by here now, I keep expecting to see you firing up.

I will be heading north of the Tugella and in your hood on the 27th, we will Splice the Mainbrace then hey? With a VDR. So if you can, stick around until then it would be awesome but I understand if you cant.
